Music Monday - Special Issue (Kinda...)

Ahahahaha!!!! Hi. How long has it been since my last post? Like a million years? Whatever.

Anyway, today's kind of going to be important. I'm going to let you see into my heart a little bit (something I don't do very often even with people close to me, trust me). These first two songs are ones that remind me of one of my closest friends, who completely understands me.

For All Those Sleeping - Follow My Voice

A Day to Remember - Have Faith in Me

Umm... This next song is kind of a... I don't know how to say this... It's one of my favorite songs, honestly... It's the ending song for one of my new favorite anime, called Death Parade. It is not for the faint of heart, let me tell you right now. (It does have an English dub, but as of today, it is not finished. They have eight episodes out right now. New episodes come out on Fridays, if you're interested. Here's a link to the dub: English Death Parade. I personally like the Japanese better, but that's maybe because they haven't finished the English dub, and the last episode is heart-wrenching... Like, I cried the entire time... Maybe because I knew it was the last episode, but mostly because - Actually, we'll save my fangirling for Friday...) It's only 12 episodes long, and I've cried every single one. (Granted, it doesn't take much for me to cry over fictional characters, but still...) Anyway, if you want to check it out, I'll probably do a post on Fandoms, Feels, and Fangirling on Friday about it. (I love it so much, you guys don't even know. I am SO upset that it won't get a second season because it didn't do well in Japan...)

Anyway, this song is kind of depressing, but I love it. It's all about pushing forward through the challenges in your life, even though it's hard and sometimes there's no one there for you. You have to do it yourself because no one's going to do it for you and you have to choose your own path. You can't let anyone else choose it for you, because that's not going to help when they leave. You have to travel your own path and no one can really follow you down that path. You can get support from you friends and family, but once you start on your journey, you kind of have to do it yourself. Sure, you can have them with you, but they won't be there with you 100% of the way. It kind of reminds me of the saying, "If you want something done right, gotta do it yourself."

Music Monday - 2CELLOS

I've been a fan of these guys since I heard them play "Smooth Criminal", which you can find here.

Another great one of their adaptations that I love is "Mombasa" from Inception. Here it is if you want to check it out.

But one that I just watched that I was blown away by was this one:

These guys are completely amazing and blow me away with everything that htey do.

Music Monday

Wow, ok. So, it's been a while, but I have a good reason!

...

Actually, no, I don't. I have no real reason at all, actually. BUT, I'm back. For today, at least.

So, I just found this new anime (well, new to me) called Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings. It has an AMAZING soundtrack. It was done by the same guy who did the Attack on Titan soundtrack, Hiroyuki Sawano. And I LOVE the AoT soundtrack. So, for Music Monday, here's a little taste of the Sengoku Basara Soundtrack:

And, just for the heck of it (and because it's epic), here's one of the songs from the AoT soundtrack, too:

Music Monday - Free! OST!

Ok. There's this anime called Free! that I absolutely LOVE. (And if you haven't read my Fangirling post about it, here it is: Click on this and love it)

FUNIMATION IS MAKING AN ENGLISH DUB OF ETERNAL SUMMER AND I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED BECAUSE J. MICHAEL TATUM IS GOING TO BE REI AND I TOTALLY CALLED IT AND YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY I AM THAT IT'S J. MICHAEL TATUM AND NOT ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE HE'S AN AMAZING VA AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AND WHEN I FIRST WATCHED FREE, I COULD JUST HEAR J. MICHAEL TATUM'S VOICE COMING OUT OF REI'S MOUTH AND COULDN'T IMAGINE ANYONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. This is music Monday, not Fandoms, Feels, and Fangirling Friday. Although, this will contain a little bit of fangirling because I LOVE the Free! music. It's amazing. It has the right amount of dubstep, orchestral, and just plain awesomeness.

For our first song, it's called Beginning Beat.
I couldn't get the video to go on this page, so here's a link to it.

Ugh. And I couldn't find any of the other Eternal Summer (season two) songs on youtube, but here's the link to the whole OST for the first season:
Disc 1
Disc 2

My favorites:
Disc 1
- Taste the Satisfaction
- Strong Rival Team
- Beautiful Sea
- Crisis of Life
Disc 2
- Strong Swim
- Sound of Sunset
- Sense of Defeat
- Time of Competing
- Splash Free

Sorry, but I don't want to find all of those individual videos on Youtube. But, yeah. That's the first season of Free's soundtrack. And I love it so. It's probably one of my favorite anime soundtracks.

Anyway, that's it for today's Music Monday. :)

Music Monday!

Well, here we are again on Music Monday. And I wish that I could share more than just one song, but... Wait. What's stopping me? This is my blog, and I can do whatever I want, goshdangit!!!

We're going to stick with one band, because that seems logical to me. And that band is Memphis May Fire.

I love them. I kind of discovered them through listening to Matty Mullins, the lead singer. He made his own self-titled album and it's amazing. He's Christian, and all of his lyrics have such wonderful meanings behind them.

He writes the lyrics based on his personal experiences and feelings. That's what I love about Memphis May Fire and Matty Mullins. He's phenomenal.

So, for our first song, it's from the album "Unconditional".

It's called "Beneath the Skin". You might want to look up the lyrics if you don't usually listen to Metalcore... Or maybe you should look them up anyway, because there's so much power behind the lyrics. And I think everyone should listen to this, or at least read the lyrics.

For our next song, it's from their album "Challenger".

This one is called Legacy.
I respect Matty Mullins because he really doesn't give a crap about what other people think of his music. He does it because it's what he loves and he says what he thinks.

I think a lot of people are scared of Metalcore  because it's got a lot of minor keys, but the words can have SUCH power. Like this band, and that's why I love them.

Fandoms, Feels, and Fangirling on Friday! - Ouran High School Host Club

From left to right: (Front) Kyoya Otori, Tamaki Suoh, Mitsukuni "Hunny" Haninozuka, (Back) Takashi "Mori" Morinozuka, Hikaru Hitachiin, Kaoru Hitachiin

Ok, I have to say that Ouran High School Host Club was the first anime I watched (that I can remember, at least), and it will forever be number one in my book. I'm not really a shoujo-watching girl (I'm more of a shounen-watcher, depending on what it is, I guess...), but with this one, I love it. It's just freaking hilarious, and even the manga is great. I haven't read all of it, but it's wonderful and beautiful.

So, let's start with the characters, shall we?

First up, the King: Tamaki Suoh.
(LOOK AT HOW CUTE LITTLE TAMA-CHAN IS!!!!!)

He's adorable. Tamaki is the most dramatic of the host club, but there is so much more to him than just being a drama king. That's what I love about anime. The characters are always so much more than they seem and it's absolutely lovely. Plus, in the English dub, Tamaki is voiced by Vic Mignogna, who is one of my favorite voice actors of all freaking time.

Next there's the vice president of the club (aka "Mommy"): Kyoya Otori
Kyoya is my absolute favorite host, no doubt in my mind. He's the most level headed of them all, and he's the one who does all the finances and stuff. Plus, I kind of feel like Kyoya sometimes. I mean, just when you get into some of the later episodes, I connect with him on a spiritual level.
(Kyoya feels pretty, and nothing can convince me differently. He's hiding his smile with that fan)

Anyway, next are the twins, Hikaru and Kaoru (the little devils).
So, the twins. Where do I even start with these two?! I have to say that I am most like Hikaru, the older one. He's kind of got abandonment issues and he's a little more mischievous than Kaoru, as pointed out by Haruhi in one of the episodes about how she could tell them apart. Kaoru is more... Hmm... I guess you could describe him as the nicer twin. He's more considerate of people than Hikaru is. Hikaru is pretty selfish.
However, they're definitely both the little devil type and love to pull pranks and tricks on people. But they do have their moments where they act like little kids. For example:
My best friend and I have decided that we're the twins (we sometimes have moments like theirs, too...). I'm Hikaru and she's Kaoru.

Next up is Mori.
He's not my favorite. He's very stoic and doesn't say much.

And last is Hunny.
Ah, the shota. The lovable little boy that is actually kind of creepy... O.o

Anyway, that's Ouran. I would say a lot more about it, but I can't really say things without giving away spoilers, so... Yeah. I will say that I've seen this show multiple times and I love it SO much. And I cry whenever I watch the last few episodes. So, be prepared for emotional trauma. Yeah.

That's it for this Fandoms, Feels, and Fangirling Friday!

Music Monday - Sunrise

I love my metal music, but when these bands do acoustic covers of their songs, it just makes me shiver with happiness. Especially when the original song is super beautiful like this song. Our Last Night is an amazing band. Their album "Oak Island" is great and I bought it.

But, anyways, here's the acoustic version of "Sunrise". Also, go check out the original version because it is also phenomenal.

It's wonderful.
